K-1 Flight Profile: Re-Entry, Parachutes & Airbags

  10: Second Stage Re-Entry
The orbital vehicle re-enters the earth's atmosphere nose first on a controlled trajectory to the launch site.
  11: Orbital Vehicle Landing
Parachutes are deployed at 10,000 feet, braking the descent velocity of the orbital vehicle.
  12: Airbags Deployment
Just prior to touchdown for a soft landing at the launch site, airbags are deployed. The vehicle is then prepared for the next flight, within days after landing.
